A Life for Reptiles and Amphibians, Volume 1 by Fabrizio Li Vigni.

A Life for Reptiles and Amphibians, Volume 1 contains 55 interviews with herpetologists from all around the world. These herpetologists vary greatly in age, experience, specialization and interests. This gives us a representative cross-section of the highly varied world of herpetology. The interviews in this book are made up of 18 questions. These questions let the reader discover the lives of these herpetologists interviewed, their jobs, the studies they have been involved in, how their enthusiasm for reptiles was nurtured, the difficulties they have encountered along the way and so much more. These interviews aim to intice the interviewee to share their field trips adventures, to provide  people wanting to become herpetologists with advice, and to discover what is their idea of herpetology as well as what they think of herpetoculture.

There is a second part to each interview, this is different for each herpetologist: it is a number of questions, ranging from six to over fifteen. These questions aim to explore in detail the studies and the lives of the interviewees. Another hope from these questions is to tap into their knowledge and experience,  to clarify some aspects of and methods used in herpetology that usually raise doubts and questions in young people aspiring to become herp researchers. These questions are designed on the basis of the curriculum vitae of the individual herpetologists, their published papers and books, and their discoveries.

As well as the 55 contributors to A Life for Reptiles and Amphibians, Volume 1, many more herpetologists are depicted in various photos from field trips in which they participated.
