This  field guide has ample photographraphs and describes 142 species of amphibians and reptiles of the lowland monsoon forests of southern Vietnam. This area of Vietnam has been inadequately studied compared with northern territories of the country.  Sadly the exceptional semi-deciduous monsoon forests of southern Vietnam are endangered and require intensive studies and protection. The book gives data concerning external morphological features, which will aid the reader to rapidly identify the species of amphibians and reptiles that enhabit this part of the world. The book also boasts modernized taxonomy, updated information on species distribution, ecology, reproduction and larval morphology. Photos of certain species and their larval forms, including some newly discovered by the authors, are published for the first time.
