This publication is the product of a symposium held at the joint meetings in Tampa, Florida, in 2005, which was sponsored by the Society for the Study of Amphibians and Reptiles. The publication Biology of  Boas and Pythons represents the first attempt to assemble researchers from all over the world working on some aspect of boa/python biology. There are 79 authors in this publication. This volume provides a current assessment of our understanding of booid biology, and includes chapters on ecology, natural history, evolution, behavior, physiology, neurology, reproductive biology, and conservation.
